Exposition "Created by Wind, Sand and Water"

The main idea of the exhibition is the dialogue between three forces of nature - wind, sand and water- forming a narrative about the key events and processes which shaped the Curonian Spit, its landscape features, and the present state of this protected area. The interactive exposition uses a variety of visual and sound elements to create an unforgettable atmosphere of life in the dunes, while historical details and nature focused elements stimulate curiosity and invite visitors to explore more about the Curonian Spit. The exposition is child-friendly and features a variety of educational and experiential games for children.

Currently, the exposition can be visited alone or by organized tours led by our staff:

II - VI: 11:00, 13:00, 15:00, 16:00.

The price for adults is 6 euros, and for schoolchildren, students, seniors, and people with disabilities - 3 euros. If you would like to visit with a group, please contact us by email: [email protected] or by phone: +370 671 00872.

Outdoor space

A green outdoor area has been created around the Visitor Centre: a meadow, a sand dune, a seaside- inspired footpath, and flower beds. The courtyard is decorated with preserved old plants, and new groups of low-growing plants such as: tufted hairgrass, decorative sea holly, common thyme, mint, lemon balm, garden jasmine, heritage decorative rose varieties, as well as common hornbeam, common beech, and many other plants. Benches overlooking the Curonian Lagoon are available for relaxation. An artistic accent - a bench shaped like the Curonian Spit - adds a unique touch. The outdoor experience continues seamlessly into the indoor exposition spaces.
