Nature School is a space for informal environmental education, intended for various groups of visitors: children, youth, adults, seniors, organizations and educational institutions.

Everyone who wants to get to know the natural and cultural values ​​of the Curonian Spit National Park and experience a direct connection with the environment is invited. The Nature School is open all year, so we invite you to come and experience the changes and processes of nature!

The Nature School organizes EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES:

  • Nature education 
  • Excursions and hikes 
  • Nature lessons
  • Camps and trainings
  • Events and other activities

The Nature School of the Curonian Spit National Park consists of two locations:

  • In Smiltynė (Smiltynės g. 10 and 12) 
  • In Nida (Purvynės g. 8A)

The buildings are equipped with:

  • Educational spaces
  • Accommodation facilities
  • Kitchens and showers

Up to 17 people can stay in Smiltynė and up to 32 people in Nida at the same time.

The goal of Nature School is to help visitors to gain a better understanding of the Curonian Spit as a protected area and to understand why it is protected. By welcoming people in our Nature Schools we aim: 

  • to reveal the value of this unique peninsula 
  • to introduce the natural processes
  • to inspire people to take responsibility for protecting the environment
  • to discover the changes in each season
