Management Plan for the Curonian Spit

The Management Plan is a comprehensive strategic document aimed at ensuring the effective and sustainable management of the Curonian Spit, a World Heritage Site, and the preservation of its Outstanding Universal Value for present and future generations. In accordance with Paragraph 108 of the Guidelines for the Implementation of the Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage, all properties inscribed on the World Heritage List must have an approved management plan or management system that specifies how the property’s Outstanding Universal Value is to be safeguarded.

Vision:

The Curonian Spit - a cultural landscape managed in a sustainable and inclusive manner, where a balance between nature and human activity is maintained, its distinctiveness is preserved, and local identity and authenticity are nurtured for present and future generations.
